In schools, everything and everyone is connected, and that change in one area can have unintended consequences in another.

Sometimes, real and lasting change is best achieved over a longer period of time, and would benefit from a fresh pair of eyes to look at key issues and join the dots.

If this is the case for you, I would work with you to plan a programme of activities, which would allow me to really get ‘under the skin’ of a school, and inform recommendations and ensure they are incorporated in the school's strategic and financial planning. Examples of activities I have undertaken in this type of role include:

• 1:1 and group discussions with staff and students

• Participation in daily operations such as duty and ‘on call’ rotas, detentions, attendance monitoring etc.

• Analysis of performance, attendance and behaviour data.

• Attendance at SLT and other meetings.

• Establishment and leadership/co-leadership of task & finish working parties – e.g. curriculum review, improving teaching and learning, rollout of reading / writing programmes.
